About Shveta Raina, Founder & CEO
Shveta, Founder & CEO, leads Talerang and is driven by a vision to solve the employability gap in India. Since the launch in 2013, the organization has impacted nearly 30 million students and empowered over 500,000 active learners. Her professional background includes a tenure at McKinsey and Company in New York, where she established the Female Business Analyst Mentorship Program for North America, and she served as the youngest Director at Teach For India. Her leadership has earned her prestigious accolades, including being named a Rising Woman Leader by the Economic Times and a Woman of Courage by India Today. Shveta’s contributions to the ecosystem are extensive; she has served on the IMC Skill Development and Start-up Committees and was honored as Young Womenpreneur 2017. Her list of awards includes the 2018 Women Entrepreneur of the Year, the 2022 DMA Woman Changemaker Social Innovation Award, and a spot on the 2022 DiasporaNEXT Social Entrepreneurs List. Currently, she serves as the Maharashtra State President for the Association of Business Women in Commerce & Industry .A recognized thought leader, Shveta authored a popular weekly column for Dainik Bhaskar and has taken the stage at TedX, UN Young Changemakers, and the Harvard India Conference. Her insights on career preparation are also available through her Amazon Audible podcast, Bano Job Ready, which is now in its second season.Academic excellence underpins Shveta’s work. She earned her MBA from Harvard Business School with Honors and received the Horace Goldsmith Fellowship. It was at Harvard, under Professor Das Narayan Das, that she developed the research project that evolved into Talerang.This was initially supported by the Social Enterprise Initiative. She also holds a Magna cum Laude degree from Brown University in Applied Mathematics, Economics, and International Studies.

Work-readiness incorporates competencies (soft skills) and hard skills, as well as access to mentorship, internships and jobs. We assess each candidate and then provide them with the relevant training required to enhance their skill set after which we place them.
Talerang’s training methodology integrates cohort based live training with Harvard cases, proprietary assessments, interaction with guest speakers, industry exposure, custom learning journeys, training on 21st century hard and soft skills, and personal mentoring for holistic professional development. What sets Talerang apart from other EdTech firms is its focus on high quality, impact and results for each learner.
Talerang has directly trained close to 500,000 students and reached 30 million candidates through partnerships with colleges, corporates, the media and the United Nations Development Program. Talerang has won several awards including one from the Harvard New Venture Competition and has been short-listed by Kalaari Capital’s K-Start. It has also been part of Village Capital’s India cohort.
