This year Talerang unveiled their 25 Under 25 list along with their E-Graduation.
Featured on the list is Pratik Vishnupant Tawade, recipient of the ICMR-CLiMB Fellowship 2021 offered by Medical Devices and Diagnostic Mission Secretariat, Govt. of India.
When asked, what are some accomplishments you are most proud of?
He says,
I am selected for Sensors Combined Doctoral Training Program at the University of Cambridge, UK. I was awarded the prestigious DAAD-KOSPIE Scholarship 2020 to complete Master’s thesis work at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany.
Master’s thesis work is currently nominated for D. L. Saraswati Best Thesis Award by the Institute. I have designed a paper based millifluidic device for the diagnosis of Schistosomiasis in low resource setting with Prof. Manu Prakash at Stanford University, USA. This work is recognized as the Top 16 World Innovations in Public Health 2021 by the Bay Area Global Health Alliance, USA.
I worked with eminent scientist from the world at India Covid SOS Task Force to advocate and work on scientific solutions. I was also awarded best Research Flash Talk at Annual Research Convention ChemPlus 2019 of IIT Madras. I have also designed a flow based microfluidic tool for serial dilution and drug discovery applications. I secured All India Rank 409 among 15,000 students in GATE Chemical Engineering 2019.
I was awarded First Runner Up prize for Research Case Study at Bioentrepreneur ship Bootcamp organized by BCIL, IIT Kanpur. Selected for NIRMAN Youth camp 2021 among several hundreds of applicants across all disciplines. I am proud member of Frugal Science Community, Stanford University and Young Academy of India, India.
