Alumni Placed Diaries: A glimpse into Aakriti Bahl’s journey…

Where do/will you work and what are some of your responsibilities?
I work at Accenture in London as a Business Analyst and am part of a Digital Transformation Program for a leading UK Bank. My responsibilities include working on Adobe Campaign (an email marketing tool) to create email communications for the Bank’s products. I manage an offshore team of 3 that help me with the technical development and work with a data analytics team and a design agency to deliver my work on a daily basis.

Where and in what skill track did you intern? What are some important takeaways from the Talerang internship?
I was a marketing intern at Culture Machine and True School of Music. Key takeaway would be to always ask for help when you require it – I used to struggle with prioritizing my tasks and started to sit down with my manager for help to do so and the quality of my work really improved a lot and I was more productive.

Any advice you’d like to give Talerang’s alumni?
I would say try to create opportunities to learn new skills. My first internship in the UK they did not have a lot of work for me to do but I had website ideas that could help the firm. So eventually I learnt Google analytics and helped optimize the website using the tool which created great impact for them and I got to learn a new skill.

What was one funny/memorable moment you had at work?
A memorable moment for me was getting a chance to work on the Star Wars Charity Auction with Disney while I was at eBay. I’ve been a fan since a long time and we promoted it all across the office as well by having a Star Wars week in office so it would definitely be one of the coolest campaigns I’ve gotten a chance to work on.

One thing about you that completely changed once you started working
I did not think a lot about how I can be productive in the day so I can have a good work life balance and that’s changed a lot since I’ve started working. At work I use the pomodoro technique and divide my day into sprints of 25 mins. So I try to work in that manner and I find that I get more done in a day than I normally would.

Your favourite movie/book/blog/music that you’d like to recommend to our alumni
