Intern Diaries- Sukshma Upadhyaya

Sukshma Upadhyaya is Talerang’s alumna. She is currently pursuing her BBA Honours at Christ University. Keep reading to know about her experience at Talerang as a marketing intern!

I started my journey at Talerang last year as a student of the Future CEOs program. When my college required us to start interning in May, getting an internship was tough considering the employment situation during the pandemic. I soon landed a marketing internship at Talerang under the direct leadership of Shveta Raina. In addition to the internship, I had the challenge of juggling exams and completing other courses. It wasn’t easy, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. This experience taught me many skills, including time management, organizing, and project management.

A typical day at Talerang as an intern starts with a branding meeting to brainstorm ideas and to decide our priorities for the day. My responsibilities typically include managing the Talerang blog, coming up with LinkedIn campaigns, and making creatives for our social media pages.

My advice for those afraid of applying for their first internship is to push yourself to do it. You might feel unsure of what to do or what is expected of you once you get the internship. I have been in your position, and I know it can be scary. I was extremely nervous on my first day, especially because it was my first internship, but it’s safe to say that this experience has been life-changing. I am more confident in putting myself out there. No matter what, never hesitate to ask someone for assistance; they will be happy to help you out!

Another great thing about internships is that it is a great opportunity for you to meet new people from who you’ll learn a lot. I am extremely grateful for my mentor and leader, Shveta Raina, and my team, from whom I am learning every day. My internship at Talerang is a great start for my career, and I am excited to see what comes next!
